Avon-Washington Township Public Library Card

When applying for an Avon-Washington Township library card an applicant must provide a valid Indiana license/state identification card with current Washington Township address. In the case of minors under the age of 18, the legal guardian must provide the photo identification. 

A parent or legal guardian must be present with a valid Indiana license/state identification card validating the applicant’s Washington Township address.

The borrower agrees, by signing the library card, to obey all the rules and regulations of the library, to pay promptly all fees charged to them for the injury, loss or late return of library materials and to give immediate notice of any change of address.

Resident borrower cards will be valid for two years from the date of issue. To renew the library card privilege, a valid Indiana license/state identification card with current Washington Township address must be presented. 

Hendricks County library participation in the Reciprocal Borrowing Program is determined annually by each library’s Board of Trustees. PLAC cards will be valid for one year from the purchase. 

Any applicant five years of age or over who meets one of the following requirements is considered a resident of Washington Township. In the case of minors under the age of 18, the legal guardian will need to meet the residency requirements. All other applicants will be considered nonresidents.

Residents of other Hendricks county townships whose library participate in reciprocal borrowing may use the Avon-Washington Township Public Library by showing the library card from their home library and a current photo ID. A Non-Resident card is available for purchase in areas where there is no public library service in Indiana. The Avon-Washington Township Public Library's Non-Resident fee is $80.00.

Indiana residents living outside of Hendricks County, but in an area with library services may purchase a Public Library Access Card (PLAC) sponsored by the state of Indiana. The cost of a Public Library Access Card (PLAC) is $65.00.
